The primary aim of the Titans Badminton Club is to promote the social and community life through badminton.
Anybody is eligible to join the club irrespective of age, gender, nationality, creed, ability or disability.
The club believes everyone has the right to enjoy badminton in an environment free from threat of intimidation, harassment and abuse.
All club members have a responsibility to challenge discriminatory behaviour and promote equality and diversity.
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PLAYERS / MEMBERS
The Titans Badminton Club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well being of all its members. The club believes that it is important that members, coaches, officials and parents associated with the club should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. Therefore, members are encouraged to be open in sharing any concerns or complaints they may have about any aspects of the club with the Chairperson, Secretory or Child protection officer
Members of The Titans Badminton Club are expected to abide by the following code of conduct:
All members must play within the rules and laws of badminton and respect officials and their decisions.
Members should be honest and play fairly in everything they do and never deliberately cheat or be dishonest.
Members should encourage, support and help other players enjoy badminton.
Applaud good performance and efforts from all players and teams.
Never punish or belittle players for losing or making mistakes.
Members should challenge and / or report discriminatory or bullying behaviour.
Members should keep to agreed timings for training sessions and competitions. They should inform their coach, team captain or appropriate official if they are going to be late.
Members should inform their coach, team captain or appropriate official immediately if they are required to withdraw from a match or competition that they have been selected for.
Members must wear suitable badminton sports clothing for club sessions and competitions, as agreed with the coach or officials of the club.
Members will use the correct equipment for the sport and will look after it to the best of their ability.
Members are not allowed to smoke or consume alcohol during club sessions
COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE
If any player is unhappy with any aspect of the club they can adhere to the following complaints procedure:
Club members may raise any issues or complaints with the Chairperson or Club secretory, who will then deal with the matter or address it more widely within the club
Should the issue be with the President, the complaint should be directed to another member of the Club committee, preferably Club secretory.
GENERAL CLUB RULES
The Titans Badminton Club is aiming to promote the social and community life through badminton, and fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all its members. The club believes that it is important that members, coaches, officials and parents associated with the club should, always, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. When you have any questions, concerns or suggestions, please feel free to approach to any committee of the club.
ON COURT RULES
· Dress Code: Appropriate gym/ Sports clothing is required.
· Footwear: Play with clean and non-marking shoes only. To avoid any injury, we highly recommend badminton shoes.
· Crossing Behind Courts: It is a common courtesy, and safety precaution, when passing behind courts to wait between courts until the point played is complete.
· Shuttlecocks: Shuttlecocks are expensive. Please take ONE new shuttlecock at a time and change to a new shuttlecock ONLY when the current one is no longer playable.
· Keeping Courts Clean
· Queuing System: To ensure the most efficient and fair system of court allocation, we use a software called Badboard to allocate players to courts. Please drag your name to the available player list when arrive.
ROLE OF TEAM CAPTAIN (DDLC)
Each member of your team has a list of Fixtures for their respective teams for the coming season.
Before each match, check with each member of the team that they are aware of and available to play the match. Don't assume anything.
If it is an away game, please reconfirm with the match secretary of the club, the date, time and venue where the match is to be played. This should be done one or two days beforehand. (Contact details of the match secretaries are listed in the handbook).
Team Captains MUST exchange lists of players before start of matches except in QUARTER-FINALS / SEMI-FINALS and FINALS when these shall be handed to the Referee in charge.
The Home team will supply the shuttles in League matches. In relation to Cup matches the Captin should ensure their team has shuttles and alternate shuttles
On completion of match, if your team has won, drawn or lost, please ensure that a copy of the Match Report Sheet is sent to the Leagues & Cups Committee by email or post.
Captains should be fully aware of the RULES.
BADMINTON IRELAND POLICIES
Anti Bullying Policy
Badminton Ireland acknowledges the right of all members, young player's and leaders, to enjoy participating in the sport of Badminton in a secure environment.
Anti Doping
Badminton Ireland's policy is that doping is contrary to the spirit of sport and every member has a duty to ensure that the sport is free of doping. Badminton Ireland fully subscribes to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) procedures. According to these, under the strict liability rule, athletes are responsible for any substance that may be found in their bodies.
